Obituary for Loredana Speelman

Loredana “Lori” (Banterla) Speelman, 80, passed away February 16, 2016 at her home. She was born November 7, 1935 to Maria Cathers in Verona, Italy. She was brought to America in 1946 following WWII by her mother and step father, Johnny Cathers. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. Lori married Denver Westfall in 1954 and they had 4 children. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 197, where she was a member of the drill team and past president of the Women’s Auxiliary. She married Gary Speelman in 1971. Lori enjoyed travelling, particularly back to Italy and taking cruises, fishing, was a “shopaholic” and loved animals of all kinds, especially her many cats. She was a 50 year member of her Bunco club.

Lori is survived by her children, Neil (Bobbie) Westfall, Steve (Linda) Westfall, Teresa (Keith Incorvaia) Westfall, Judy (John) Evans, Linda Brogan; grandchildren, Monica, Eric, A.J., Jodie, Keith Jr., Crystal, Nicole, Steve, Serria, Johnny, Vincent, Catherine, Sarah, Jordan; 9 great grandchildren and many dear friends, especially Richard and Wanda Ter Doest.

Friends are invited to visit from 2:00pm to 6:00pm Sunday at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00am Monday at Regina Coeli Church. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Area Humane Society.
