Obituary for Louise Liming

E. Louise Liming, age 81, was called to her heavenly home November 11, 2014 after her long battle with cancer. Born in 1933 in Portsmouth, OH, an only child to Minor and Alta Vogler, she graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1951. She met her husband of 57 years, Bud Liming, in 1956 and they were married in 1957. They relocated to Toledo in 1961 at the request of Bud’s employer.

From the summer of 1950 through 1954 she was employed by the Retail Merchants Credit Bureau compiling their newsletter. In 1954, she joined the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. operating their office for four years. The next 15 years she was a homemaker raising their three children; David, Linda and Ken. Returning to the work force in 1973 as the Office Manager/Bookkeeper for several businesses in a part-time capacity. She spent the remaining 13 years of her career working for a theater management booking agency and retired in 1994.

A member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for 50 years, she served on several committees including the treasurer for United Methodist Women. She enjoyed spending time with others and participated in a ladies golf league, bowling, Bunko club and social activities at church. One of her favorite hobbies was creative writing and submitted several pieces to various journals and magazines. She enjoyed traveling and especially escaping the cold Toledo winters spending them in Bradenton, FL. She will always be remembered for her generous and selfless nature and devotion to family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband Bud Liming, and was blessed with three children; David (Patricia) Liming of Swanton, OH; Linda [deceased] (Ken) Turk of Swanton, OH; and Kenneth (Kristeen) Liming of Silver Spring, MD along with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 14th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH. In addition, family and friends my visit at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 4030, Douglas Rd., Toledo, OH on Saturday, November 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at the church starting at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH.

The family thanks all of their friends and the Aldersgate church family for the continuous love and support. In addition they would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Toledo), Flower Hospital, and The Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church; attn: Van Replacement Fund.
