Richard Lee Forrester, age 78, of Toledo, died peacefully at his home on Monday, June 9, 2008. He was born on March 1, 1930, in Toledo. Dick was a proud graduate of DeVilbiss High School's class of 1948, where he played varsity football. Dick was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he had the opportunity to travel the world. After his return from the military, Dick worked forty years as a teamster for both the Jersey Bread Company and the Nichols Bakery. He was a long time football coach at Rosary Cathedral School. He loved to fish on Lake Erie and spent many years attempting to fine tune his golf game. The most important thing to him was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Pat, of 52 years. Also surviving are their five children, Steve (Julie) Forrester, Sue (Tim) Plath, Ann (Mike) Aberl, Jim (Diane) Forrester and Carole (Herb) Scherer. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jacob (Jennie) and Matthew Forrester, Katie, Kelly and David Plath, Stacey and Monica Aberl, Will, Natalie and Ben Forrester, Joe and Dan Bajas; as well as one great-grandchild, Maxwell Forrester. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Jeri Anderson and Michelle Jacob and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to visit from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
