Ron walked up to heaven into the arms of his 3 children, Rick, Eddie and Alison Beth on May 12th. He died at home with his loving wife, Mary Ann and 2 daughters at his side. He was born February 15, 1927 to James and Edith Staley in Beecher, Illinois. He sold heating and a/c most of his adult life. Never having a paid vacation he managed to take his family on 2 every year, helluva salesman Ron! God gave you the gift. Sports were a big part of his life , loving Michigan football, the Lions and Tigers, he was a great pool player and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with his wife. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Ron prayed a lot, not for himself but for others and it saddened him when he was no longer able to attend church. Many thought Ron was the richest man ever, as he was a dad and grandpa to be envied. A rare breed who will be missed deeply by his Finnish, wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Ann; daughters, Diana (Kirk) Hiller and Bonnie (Chuck) Ackerman; brother, Bob; sisters, Kathleen and Ruth; 9 grandkids, who were all so special including his buddy, Amanda; 3 great grandkids and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 3 children, siblings, Dorothy, Irene, Walt; parents and in laws. We were blessed to have had you in our lives. “Keep those gates open for me Hon and watch over me til I'm there. Services will be 11:00am Saturday at Ansberg-West Funeral Home 3000 Sylvania Avenue where friends are invited to visit from 2:00 to 8:00pm Friday. Interment in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
