??? ? Victor R. Miller Sr., 80, passed away Thursday May 3, 2007 at the Franciscan Care Center.? He was born March 9, 1927 to Louis and Dora Miller in Oneida, New York.? He was a graduate of Scott High School, class of 1948.? Victor honorably served his country as member of the Army, in Germany, during World War II.? He was a member of the Ohio National Guard 180th F.W. retiring as a Major in 1974.? Victor graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelors degree in Law Enforcement.? He was a 35 year member of the Toledo Police Department retiring in 1983 as a Lieutenant.? Victor's memberships included Christ the King Church, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Elks Lodge and the Michigan Sportsman Club. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was an avid competition shooter with the Toledo Police, winning many awards and recognition for his marksmanship. ??? Surviving is his wife, Jeanne (McMahon) Miller; children, Victor R.(Barbara) Miller Jr., Catherine (Chester) Lonnquist, Richard W. Miller; grandchildren, Crescent, Janelle, Victor G. III, Bryan, April, Victoria, James and several great grandchildren.? He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis A. Miller and sister, Olive "Rusty" Cassida. ??? Special thanks to the Franciscan Care Center for their care and support. ??? Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 to 9:00pm Monday in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home 3000 Sylvania Avenue.? A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00am Tuesday at Christ the King Church with Rev. Michael O. Brown officiating.? Interment will take place in Parish, New York Memorial Day weekend.? Contributions may be given to the Ohio Veterans Association.?
