Lillian Austin Obituary

Lillian Austin was born to the union of Charlie and Annie Brown in Money, Mississippi on August 10, 1924. Lillian moved to Toledo in 1976. She confessed her love for Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jimmie l. Jordan Jr, where she was a member of the Mother Board. Lillian enjoyed spending time and Sunday dinners with her family, watching her favorite television shows, and listening to her favorite songs "Cooling Waters" and "I'm Going to Do Your Will". She was known for her kind and gentle spirit and soft spoken words along with cooking the BEST fried chicken and those homemade flaky biscuits with her homemade syrup. Lillian went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Annie Brown; husband, Bennie James Austin Sr.; sister, Mary Elizabeth Jackson; sons, Charlie and Willie Brown and daughter, Martha Ann Hill.


She leaves to cherish her memories five sons, Robert (Clara) Brown, Toledo, OH; Walter (Vera) Brown, Toledo, OH; Bennie (Dollie) Austin Jr. Toledo, OH; William (Crystal) Austin, Oregon, OH; Anthony (Patty) Austin, Toledo, Ohio. Five daughters, Olivia Coleman, Toledo, OH; Daisy (Ivory) Payne, Itta Bena, MS; Ruth (Willie) Howard, Toledo, OH; Lillian (Harry) Leeflora, Itta Bena, MS and Audrey Austin, Toledo, OH as well as fifty-three grandchildren; one hundred and sixty- seven great-grandchildren and sixty-seven great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lillian will be greatly missed and remembered by all who loved her.
