Michael Edward McCarty

Girard - Michael E. McCarty, Sr., 56, passed on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Warren, Ohio on July 17, 1964, the son of William and Juanita Armstrong McCarty. He was a self-employed carpenter. Mike enjoyed hunting with his family, fishing and enjoying time with his grandchildren. Michael resided with his loving wife, Michelle Pountious McCarty, whom he married in August 2012. He is also survived by his father, William (Nita) McCarty of Warren; his stepfather, Larry James of Cortland; his brothers, Sean McCarty of Vienna, Ohio and Tim (Beth) of Okinawa, Japan; his stepsister, Maria (RJ) Molder of Tampa, Florida; his children, Michael McCarty, Jr. and Raffaela of Youngstown, Ohio, Brian McCarty of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Jennifer (Lucas) Kuhn of Canton, Ohio, Alex (Darlene) McCarty and Tim (Kaley) McCarty all of Clearwater, Florida; his stepchildren, Timothy Reeves of Niles, Ohio, Ashley Reeves of Warren, Ohio and Jessica Butcher of Warren, Ohio; his grandchildren, Noah, Moses, Kaylee, Fionna, Emma, Devon, Ava, Faith, Heaven, Brayden, Kilee, Izzy, Harley, Tucker, Destinee, Anastasia, Delsean, Kloee-Marie, Benny, Ka’Daja, Tiara, Demaria, MaKenna and Bryson; his great grandchildren, Desmarae and Zavaha and several nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita P. James and his grandparents, Pearl and Edward Armstrong and Ralph E. and Anne C. McCarty. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in June.
