Nelson L. Salway, 65, of Cortland, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. He was born on November 17, 1955 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Nelson R. Salway and Jean Marshman Salway.

Nelson enjoyed riding his Harley, especially for the wind therapy. He also enjoyed working outdoors around his property and the time that he spent with his granddaughters and dogs. Anyone who knew Nelson knew he was an avid prankster and that he was able to navigate his way around any kitchen as he loved to share his many homemade recipes.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathy L Kearns Salway and his children, Scott Thornton and Cheyenne (Tom Weeks); as well as his two granddaughters, Alainna and Addison whom he adored.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda.

A private service has been arranged.
