Funeral services for Alfred L. Anderson, 92, of Eastlake, will be at 11 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.<br><br>The family will receive friends from 1-5 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the funeral home.<br><br>Alfred passed away January 1, 2019 in Concord Twp. <br><br>Mr. Anderson is a native of Cookeville, TN, where he was born on June 15, 1926. He completed his elementary and high school education in TN and between October, 1944 and April, 1946, served in The United States Navy.<br><br>He entered on duty with the FBI in a clerical capacity in March, 1948, and continued his education at Southeastern University in Washington D.C., where he earned a Bachelor of Commercial Science degree in <br>accounting in 1951.<br><br>In June, 1951, Mr. Anderson was appointed a Special Agent and upon completion of a course of training was assigned to the FBI’s Newark, New Jersey Office. He subsequently served in the Cleveland, Ohio and Washington Field Offices of the FBI. In July, 1968, he was transferred, in a supervisory capacity, to the Crime Records Division at FBI Headquarters, Washington D.C., and following brief assignments in the Training and Inspection Divisions, he returned to supervisory duties in the Crime Records Division in May, 1971. In February, 1972, he was designated Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Anchorage, Alaska, Office and was transferred to the office in Seattle, Washington on December, 1973. He retired from the Bureau in June, 1976.<br><br>Mayor Ralph J. Perk appointed him to the position of Project Director of the Mayor’s Crime Fighting Task Force in April, 1977.<br><br>Survivors include his wife, Alice T. (Toole) of 67 years; siblings, Bonnie Burton, Clay Anderson, and Bobbie Maynard; sister-in-law Rosamond Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.<br><br>He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Matte (Allison) Anderson. His brothers, Claude and Alvin Anderson are also deceased. <br><br>Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Twp.<br>
