A celebration of life service for Arthur Edward Scarsbrook, 83, of Chester Township, will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Grace Episcopal Church, 36200 Ridge Road, Willoughby.. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church. The Rev. M. Alton Plummer, Rector, will officiate at the service. Private family burial will be in Larned Cemetery, Chardon Township. Mr. Scarsbrook passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Metzenbaum Center in Chester Township, where he has lived for the past 35 years. Born May 17, 1929 in Chardon Township, he grew up on his parent's farm and later worked for many years at the Metzenbaum Center in the workshop for the developmentally disabled until he retired. Arthur is survived by his sister, Roberta (Scarsbrook) Mackey of Willoughby; nieces and nephews, Patricia (Mackey) Parsons of Davidson, NC; Lawrence Mackey of Jackson Township, OH; Gregory Mackey of Mentor, OH; Jeffery Mackey of Willoughby, OH; Nancy (Mackey) Brothers of Willoughby, OH; Jamie Mackey of Wichita, KS and Timothy Mackey of Willoughby, OH; great-nieces, Rebecca Spike, Allison Mackey, Michele Wilson, Kelly Mackey, Brittany Hardy, Katie Mackey and Asia Mackey; great-nephews, Gregory Mackey, Jason Brothers, Patrick Mackey, Ryan Mackey and Shawn Mackey; great-great nieces, Mila and Annabelle and great-great nephews, London and Marshall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred G. and Janet (Eville) Scarsbrook and his older brother, Donald Scarsbrook. The family would like to recognize the staff at Metzenbaum Center for the last 35 years of love, care and support. Arthur was blessed by the love provided to him by their talented staff. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Metzenbaum Center, 8200 Cedar Road, Chesterland, OH 44026 in memory of Arthur Scarsbrook.
