Memorial services for August E. Keyerleber, 99, of Waite Hill, will be held at a future date.
Mr. Keyerleber passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Homestead II in Painesville after a short residency.
Born August 21, 1914 in Cleveland, he has lived in Waite Hill for more than 60 years until just this past March. He was an avid horseman, gardener and enjoyed fishing on summer vacations in Canada.
Mr. Keyerleber was employed as a district sales manager at the former Rath Packing Company. He retired in 1979 after 42 years of service.
Survivors are his children, Janet S. (William A. Sr.) Shank of Kirtland and Dennis J. (Patricia) Keyerleber of Clemmons, NC; grandchildren, William A. (Cassandara) Shank, Jr.; Dr. Jennifer (Jake Harrison) Shank; Susan (Phil) Komaransky and Jill (Aaron) Parker; great grandsons, William A. Shank, III and Joshua A. Parker. He also leaves his beloved nieces, Marilyn (Jim) Smith and Joan (Jack) Brown of North Carolina and his devoted nephew, Fred Keyerleber and niece, Barbara Hanko and his dear friend, Elizabeth Rattray.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Keyerleber in 1991. His parents, Frederick and Martha (Neubert) Keyerleber, brothers, Frederick and William Keyerleber and sisters, Dorothy Haire and Evelyn Haire are also deceased.
Private interment has taken place in Waite Hill Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Waite Hill Contribution Fund, 7215 Eagle Mills Road, Waite Hill, OH 44094 in appreciation for all that the village staff has done for their father through the years.
