Betty A. Meyer

Services for Betty A. (Norton) Meyer, 87, of Willoughby, will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11:30 AM on Saturday, prior to the service.

Mrs. Meyer passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home.

Born March 23, 1925 in Cleveland, she was a longstanding Willoughby resident.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Willowick and loved visiting the library and read an average of two books per week.

Mrs. Meyer was employed as a loan officer at the former Citizens Savings & Loan Company in Painesville, and retired from the Eastlake Dollar Bank.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Howie) Speidel of Cleveland, Amy (John) Speidel of Willoughby and Robert (Amy) Meyer, Jr. of Palmer, PA; grandchildren, Beth (Dave) Smith, Nate (Michelle) Speidel, Ron Speidel, Connie Speidel, Benjamin (Rita) Speidel, Paul Meyer, Caity Meyer, Gretchen Meyer, Abby Meyer, Aidan Meyer; eight great grandchildren and brother, Tom Norton of Florida.

Her husband, Robert Paul Meyer passed away March 1, 2011. Her parents, John and Ethel Norton are also deceased.

Private burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602, who lovingly cared for Robert and Betty, during their illnesses.
