Bonita S. Elkins

Services for Bonita S. “Bonnie” Elkins, 71, of Concord Twp., will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Ms. Elkins passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013.

Born May 3, 1941 in Rowlesburg, WV, she has lived in Lake County for more than 50 years.

She was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church, enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, playing bingo, and attending Curves.

Ms. Elkins had retired from Sears at Great Lakes Mall and was currently employed at K-Mart in Mentor.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelley (Gerry) Morgan of Concord Twp.; granddaughters, Brigid and Delaney Morgan and sister, Rita Freeman of Willoughby. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elza and Sarah Shaffer and siblings, Lilan “Lil” Grimm, Wanda Greene, Willard “Buck” Shaffer, Clyde Shaffer, Robert Shaffer and Charles Shaffer and brother-in-law, George Grimm.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kurt E. Landerholm of Mentor United Methodist Church will officiate at the service. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, 1689 East 115th St., Cleveland, OH 44106.
