Memorial services to celebrate the life of Charles J. “Chuck” Mallue, Jr. of Willoughby, will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Lyons Chapel at the Nason Center of Breckenridge Village, 36859 Ridge Road, Willoughby. The time of the service is pending, and will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Mallue passed away peacefully on February 27, 2014 at the Fairmount Health Center at Breckenridge Village.

Born July 13, 1920 in Milwaukee, WI, he had lived in Euclid and Avon Lake for many years, before retiring to Breckenridge Village more than 20 years ago.

Chuck was a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and was also a member of Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Euclid for over 50 years, where he was active in leadership positions throughout the Church. He was a member and past president of the Cleveland Chapter of the American Association of Independent Investors for 12 years and received their Distinguished Service Award. He was also an active volunteer at Breckenridge Village and in the Willoughby Community, having received the City’s Resolution as the 1994 “Salt of the Earth” award winner. He was also a volunteer for many years with the former Mentor Concert Series. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Chuck was a lifelong learner, coach and mentor to others.

Mr. Mallue held a variety of management positions with local firms, including Eagle-Picher Industries.

Survivors are his son, Charles (Linda) Mallue, III of The Villages, FL; daughter, Barbara (Steve) Stamas of Frisco, TX; four grandsons, Charles IV, Jeffery, Scott and Nicholas, and five great granddaughters, Charlotte, Margaret, Kemry, Alivia and Macy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jane E. Mallue, on June 6, 2007.
