Dewey E. Lansberry

Services for Dewey E. “Eddie” Lansberry, 90, of Kirtland, will be at 1 PM on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mr. Lansberry passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his home.

Born May 13, 1922 in Pierce, WV, he has lived in Lake County for the past 46 years.

He was a World War II United States Army veteran, and enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, tinkering, building mini bikes and bicycles and was also a former volunteer at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.

Mr. Lansberry was employed as a stationary engineer at the former Towmotor Corporation in Mentor. He retired in 1985.

Survivors are his wife of 38 years, Anna (Armstrong) Lansberry; children, Joan Lansberry, Alexandria Hurley, Dewey R. Lansberry, Della (Matt Lane) Lansberry and Ralph (Tina) Lansberry; step-children, David (Andrea) Adams, Robert (Georgia) Adams, Fred (Lisabeth) Adams and William (Martha) Adams; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and sisters, Lorene (James) Sturm, Barbara Lansberry and Sharon (Larry) Idleman. He also leaves his daughter-in-laws, Sandy Adams and Judy Adams, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Twana J. Lansberry; step-sons, H. Michael and Jack D. Adams and sister, Rebecca Helmick.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in South Kirtland Cemetery.
