Donald Roy Wylie

A celebration of the life of Donald Roy Wylie will be held on Friday, May 3rd 2019 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home in Willoughby, Ohio. Visitation is from 6PM with a memorial service to begin at 7PM.

On Friday, April 26, 2019 Don Wylie, loving husband and father of four, lost his yearlong battle with cancer at the age of 82.

Don was born on April 7, 1937 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Robert and Ferne Wylie (Minkler). On January 10, 1959 he married Patte Swenson. Together, they raised four children: Cindy, Jenny and twins, Donnie and Deanna.

Following his service in the Navy, Don moved his family to Ohio where they have lived for over 50 years. He worked for Johnson-Stipher Dental Supply and retired from Keithley Instruments after almost 20 years service.

Don had a passion for his family and his precious little dog, Lucy. He was known for his quick wit, his generous hugs and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Cindy. He is survived by his wife, Patte, three children, Jenny (Mark), Don (Sharon) and Deanna, ten grandchildren, Kelly, Trae, Mike, Elsa, Jonah, Jacob, Peter, Dylan, Carter, and Paige, his brother, Jim from Portland, Oregon and his sister, Nancy from Los Angeles, California, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Disciples Christian Church (3663 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44121) or a cancer organization of your choosing.
