Doris M. Carter

Services for Doris M. (Winters) Carter, 95, of Willoughby, will be at 12 Noon on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Robert D. Schuler will officiate at the service.

Mrs. Carter passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at her home.

Born August 18, 1918 in Willoughby, she was a lifetime resident of Willoughby Hills and Willoughby, residing on River Road for more than 80 years, before moving to the Breckenridge Village Community.

She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Willoughby

Survivors are her daughter, Judith A. Conley of Clearwater, FL and son, Douglas E. (Elaine) Carter of Huntsburg; grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Conley of Dunedin, FL, Catherine (Jeff) Carlton of Tierra Verde, FL, John (Holly) Conley, Robert (Jean) Carter, Frederick (Jenna) Carter, Steven (Heather) Carter and Dawn (Kevin) Kozlina; great-grandchildren, Cameron Conley, Halley Conley, Michael, Conley, Joshua Carter, Erin Carter, Noel Carter, Connor Kozlina, Alex Kozlina, Meghan Carter, Jacob Carter, Asia Brannon and Mason Carter; great-great-grandmother of 18. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wendell Carter on February 19, 1997. Her parents, Charles and Matilda (Kotsch) Winters and siblings, William Gertrude, Betty and Eugene are also deceased.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service on Wednesday.
