Obituary
CHIEF EUGENE P. GEHRI, 92, of Bedford Heights, beloved husband of the late Lois Marie (nee: Clough) Gehri; loving father of Cheryl (Jeffrey) Long, Mark Gehri, Timothy Gehri and Bridget Gehri; dear grandfather of Tammy (Tony), Marie (Todd), Mark, Matthew (Carolyn), Michael (Ryan), Robert (Jessica) and Rebecca; great-grandfather of Kenzie, June, Madeline, Grace, Aryonna, Keegan, Nicholas, Scarlet and Jude; loving brother of Nancy Parsons and the late Virginia Barlow. After serving in World War II, Gene Gehri served the Chesterland community as the volunteer fire chief. In 1963, he was hired as Captain for the City of Bedford Heights Fire Department, promoted to Chief in 1977, where he served until his retirement in 2000. He recently was a participant in the Honor Flight Cleveland to Washington, DC where he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at DAVIS-BABCOCK FUNERAL HOME, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby (44094) where funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
