Private family services have been held for Fay L. Gierman, 93, of Willowick.
Mrs. Gierman passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at Mentor Way Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center in Mentor.
Born September 2, 1919 in Cleveland, to Edward and Viola Kohl Sherman, she
was a 37 year resident of Willowick, having moved there from Painesville.
She enjoyed bowling, crafts, cooking, baking pastries and spending time with her longtime four-legged companion, Cindy.
Mrs. Gierman is survived by her children, Charles (Nancy) Gierman of Concord Twp., Nancy Baker of Painesville and James (Sharon) Gierman of Chesterland; grandchildren Denise, Tim, Dennis, Chuck, Sherry, David, Sheila, Jeff and Randy; 26 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Pearl Strunk, Barbara Reich, Edward Sherman and Shirley Majurski. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death in 1999, after 61 years of marriage, by her husband, Lloyd, whom she married in 1938. Her parents, Edward and Viola Sherman; sister Grace Strunk; brothers William and Robert Sherman and son-in-law, Brian Baker are also deceased.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
