Obituary
A celebration of the life of Frank Cyrus Daniels, 88, of Kirtland, will be held from 12-4 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at The LaMalfa Center, 5783 Heisley Road, Mentor.
Mr. Daniels passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Mentor.
Born July 24, 1928 in Kirtland Township, he was a lifelong Willoughby and Kirtland resident.
He was a graduate of Mentor High School, class of 1946 and attended Oberlin College before marrying his high school sweetheart, Jacquelyn L. Courville, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. He also served in the National Guard. He began playing the piano at age five and playing music was his passion. He was a performer with several groups and musicians his entire life playing at various night clubs, restaurants and events. He was the true ‘piano man’ in every sense of the word.
Mr. Daniels was a co-owner of the former Daniels’ Brothers Fuel Oil Company in Willoughby.
Survivors are his son, Mark (Kelly) Daniels of Mentor and daughter, Lauren (Raymond) Bahr of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Brian Daniels, Stephanie (Brian) Wonson, Megan Spring, Lyndsay Bahr and Adam Bahr and great grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey Wonson. He also leaves his second wife of 19 years, Madelyn “Rita” Daniels and her children, Anthony (Jennifer) Sapuppo, Michelle Sapuppo Riordan, Kathryn Sapuppo Clancy and Carol Sapuppo Stephens and her grandchildren, Leanne Beagle, Daniel Sapuppo, Madeline Sapuppo, Matthew Riordan, Benjamin Clancy, Jonathan Clancy, Erin Clancy, Cole Stephens and Clay Stephens.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacquelyn L. (Courville) Daniels, on March 12, 1996. His parents, Willard “Pete” and Emma Jane (Wright) are also deceased.
Private family entombment has taken place at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
