Funeral service for Harry R. Hess Jr., 74, of Mentor, will be 10 AM Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Mentor Baptist Church, 7500 Johnnycake Ridge Rd., Mentor. <br>Family will receive friends 2-4 & 6- 8 PM Friday at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave. Willoughby and 9-10 AM Saturday at Mentor Baptist Church, prior to the service. <br>Harry passed away October 15, 2017 in Mentor, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 6, 1943 in Cleveland. <br>Harry retired as a foreman from Slabe Machine Products. He loved horse racing, gambling, camping in his younger years with his nieces and nephews, and Sudoku puzzles. He loved going on cruises, having been on more than 30. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland sports teams fan. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family.<br>Survivors include his wife, Judy, of 12 years; step-children, Cliff (Joanne) Cornelius, Jim Cornelius, Angie (Scott) Scherler, and Tony (Nicole) Pelletti; step-grandchildren, Christopher and Beth Cornelius, Stephanie (Jon) Sevastos, Sophia Pelletti, and Joshua and Anna Scherler; sister, Doris Coughlin; brother, Earl Hess; survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. <br>He was preceded in death by his second wife, Marjorie Hess; sisters, Louise Peterson, Harriett Luszczewski and Mary Lou Hess; parents, Harry R. Hess Sr. and Mary Hess are also deceased.<br>Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery. <br>
