James Fry, 96, of Euclid, passed away June 5, 2013 with family at his side. He was born January 14, 1917 in Latrobe, PA. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A long time railroad employee, Mr. Fry began his career with the Pennsylvania Railroad in Delmont, PA as a fireman on steam locomotives. He later moved to Cleveland, working for the New York Central Railroad as a fireman and locomotive engineer, first on steam and then on diesel locomotives. Mr. Fry was an avid collector of toy trains and transportation memorabilia, and was a charter member and past president of the Train Collectors Association. He was also a member of the Loyalhanna Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons in Latrobe, PA.
He leaves behind his son John (Jude) of Carlisle, Massachusetts; grandchildren Johnny, Katie and Sarah; and faithful caregivers Linda (Mark) Glover of Wickliffe and Richard Johnson of Euclid.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ida Mae (Sonnefelt); sister Virginia Miller; and brother Pete Fry.
