Funeral services for James H. “Jim” Mathews, age 71, of Mentor will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Mathews passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born July 18, 1943 in Charleston, West Virginia.
He was a member of multiple professional organizations and was a lifelong member of the Painesville Elks. He enjoyed fishing and grilling and loved spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed his dog and travel companion, Bailey.
Mr. Mathews was a Certified Public Accountant.
Survivors include his wife Mary L. (Webster) Mathews of 8 years; son, James (Heather) Mathews of Eastlake; daughter, Christene (Shane) Woodley of Mentor; step-sons, Scott (Tara) Webster of Hambden Twp. and Keith (Heather) Webster of Painesville; grandchildren, Holly, Casey, Andrew, Tyler, Grace, Bailey, and Brendan; sister, Mary Ellen Paolo of Wickliffe; mother-in-law, Lucille Stephens and former wife, Lucia Jarvis.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Christene Mathews.
Family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
