Janet M. Clark

Janet M. (Drake) Clark, 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 201t at University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center.

Born December 21, 1924 in Willoughby, a daughter of Waldo and Florence (Eville) Drake, she was raised in Wickliffe and graduated from Wickliffe High School.

She married Howard “Lee” Clark on September 22, 1943 in Wickliffe and together they raised three children, Kenneth, Susan and Karen. They were married 29 years, until Lee’s death in 1973. She was a resident of Kirtland for 56 years, before moving to Ashtabula County due to health issues.

A homemaker for most of her life, she did odd jobs when needed; after Lee’s death, she worked for the Lake County Society for Crippled Children and Adults until her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Clark and son, Kenneth (Sandy) Clark and grandsons, Chris (Courtney) Clark and Seth (Amber) Clark.

Besides her husband, Lee, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Clark; her parents, above and her siblings (and their spouses), Margaret Drake, Betty (Joseph) Toutant, Marian (Charles) Burkhardt, Ralph (Henrietta) Drake, Raymond (Ruth) Drake and Wallace Drake.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 PM on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. There will be no funeral services and private burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Holden Arboretum, 9500 Sperry Road, Kirtland, OH 44094.
