Mrs. Porter passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her home in Willoughby, surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 26, 1933 in Cleveland, she had lived in Eastlake for more than 40 years before moving to Willoughby in 2001.

She was a member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in Eastlake, and attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Cleveland with her daughter.
Johanna lived and dedicated her life to her family and many friends. She started a family tradition on Sunday’s with pasta dinners that continue to this day. Her home was always filled with love and laughter, where she was the heart of it all; she leaves us with great memories and a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Survivors are her children, MaryKay (Kevin) DeSico of Willoughby; Pamela (Bruno) Verbanac of Painesville Township; Russell (Kathy) Porter of Willoughby and Joely (David) Heller of Richfield; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families and her dear friend, Bobby Intorcio.

She will be welcomed in heaven with our loving daddy, William Porter, who passed away January 23, 2004. Her parents, Joseph and Angelina (Gamiero) Iammarono and siblings, Clara, Tony, Annie, Carmela and Rosemary are also deceased.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Fr. Martin F. Polito of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church will officiate at the Mass. Final resting place will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village.

Mrs. Porter’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and love to the staff members of Grace Hospice and Angels in Waiting Home Care for their loving care of their mother.
