Memorial services for Jonathan S. Baeslack, 31, of Willoughby, will be at 12 Noon on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Larry A. Pozza of ShadeTree Community Church will officiate at the service. <br><br>The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 12 noon on Monday, prior to the service. <br><br>Jon passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 8, 2018.<br><br>He was born October 30, 1987 in Westerville, Ohio. <br><br>He held a Second Degree Black Belt in Karate and enjoyed playing video games. Jon was a graduate of Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering. He had also worked as a research intern at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. <br><br>Survivors are his parents, Bud and Shelley Baeslack; sisters, Gen Potts and Grace (Dominic) Angelone and brother, Drew (Michelle) Baeslack; nephews, Jacob, Cole and Michael and niece, Katelyn. He also leaves his paternal grandfather, William Baeslack, Jr. and several aunts, uncles and cousins. <br><br>He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, L. Philip and Gene O. Longley and paternal grandmother, Yolanda T. Baeslack.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the LEAP Institute (LEAPInstitute.org).<br><br>
