Private family services have been held for Kenneth Aplis, 82, of Eastlake. <br>Mr. Aplis passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at Hospice House in Cleveland. <br>Born August 5, 1931 in Cleveland, he was a longtime Lake County resident.<br>Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years Jacquelyn (Stamer); sons, Brian Aplis of Willoughby and Darren Aplis; daughter, Terry Hirling; grandchildren, Alicia, Nicholas, Adriana, Barbara, Joshua, and Patrick Aplis and Shannon Huffman; step-children, Jonathan and Rachel Lipoff; brother, Irvin (Judy) Aplis of Solon; many nieces and nephews and their families and great-aunt Patsy.<br>He was preceded in death by his parents, Patsy and Ida (Ermin) Aplis and brother Pat Aplis.<br>He was a United States Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 678 Willowick-Eastlake and Lyndhurst Lodge 508 F. & A.M. in Lyndhurst. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and golfing, woodworking and he was an artist.<br>Mr. Aplis was a retired tool and die maker and worked at E Manufacturing in Eastlake. <br>The family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.<br>
