Lois Jean Daly

Lois Jean Daly, of Eastlake, passed away on November 3, 2016, at Highland Pointe Nursing Home after a brief illness. <br><br>Born on May 29, 1930 to the late Russell and Donna Hallford, Lois was a graduate of Collinwood High School, and as a teenager she enjoyed singing with the Nottingham United Methodist Church Choir. <br><br>In the 1950’s, Lois worked at her father-in-law’s flower shop in Euclid, The Big Bouquet, and later worked as a lunch aide at Washington Elementary School in Eastlake for 16 years, where she was much loved by students, teachers and administrators. Lois was a proud resident of Eastlake for 61 years, and in 2015 she and her husband received recognition from the city for their many years of residence and contributions to the community.<br><br>Lois’ family was her pride and joy. She was a friend to everyone she met and she always had a smile to share. She had an infectious laugh and cherished the memories of her early married life in the Beulah Park neighborhood, living next door to Euclid Beach Park. Lois enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, attending her family’s concerts, sporting and academic events, going for drives in the country, watching Drum Corps competitions and participating with her husband in Masonic functions. <br><br>She was a faithful and loving wife of 67 years of Tom E. Daly, Jr., and beloved mother of Robert (Jane) Daly, Ted (Linda) Daly, Janice (Walter) Zemaitis, and Teri (Michael) Creadon. Lois had ten wonderful grandchildren: Tom E. Daly IV, Tina Sedar, Christopher Daly, Jenna Nordman, Shawn Little, Michael Daly, Bryan Daly, Gregory Zemaitis, Candice Zarbo, and Kylie Creadon, and ten great-grandchildren.<br><br>She was preceded in death by three of her children, Tom E. "Herky” Daly, III, Russell Daly, and Donna Wilson. <br><br>The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, followed by a memorial service at 4 PM officiated by Rev. Richard D. Weller. Private family interment will take place at Acacia Memorial Park. <br><br>In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lois’ memory may be made to Ohio Living Hospice, 1001 Kingsmill Parkway, Columbus, OH 43229. “A mother’s hug lasts long after she lets go.”

Lois Jean Daly, of Eastlake, passed away on November 3, 2016, at Highland Pointe Nursing Home after a brief illness.
