Memorial services for Mary Jolan (Kostura) Szampias, 91, of Willowick, will be at 1 PM on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM on Friday, at the funeral home prior to the service.<br>Mrs. Szampias passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Mentor-Way Care Center.<br>Born August 30, 1922 in Cleveland, she has lived in Willowick for the past 56 years.<br>She was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross for more than 30 years. She was also a member of Willowick Senior Center and loved her animals.<br>Survivors are her children, Carol Lasmanis of Painesville Twp., Stephen (Jane) Szampias of Mentor, Cheryl (Buck) Crofoot of Perry and Phillip (Diane) Szampias of Brunswick Hills; grandchildren, Laura Lasmanis, Linda Lasmanis, Lisa (Doug) Uchbar, Mark Lasmanis, Jr., Elizabeth Sampras, Christina (Don) Fellows, Jayme Crofoot, Christy Mason, Amanda Szampias and Todd (Brittany) Schrinke; great grandchildren, Ashley (Pedro) Blanco, Jonathan Sulhan, Aiden Fellows, Alex Fellows, Anthony Fellows, Nichlos Uchbar, Amanda Uchbar, Reda Jean Adkins, Stephen Adkins and Stephanie Adkins and great-great granddaughter, Adriana Blanco. <br>She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. Szampias on August 19, 2011 and her son, James J. Szampias on January 9, 2010. Her parents, John and Mary Kostura and brothers, John and Stephen are also deceased. <br>Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Twp.<br>In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to VITAS Hospice, 600 East Granger Road, Cleveland, OH 44131.<br>
