Mathilda Katherine Aumann Obituary

Memorial services for Mathilda “Tillie” K. (Roluffs) Aumann, 95, of Mentor, will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 32410 Willowick Drive, Willowick. The Rev. Donald P. Beaumont and Rev. Eric Tritten will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the Church.

Mrs. Aumann entered her heavenly home on November 10, 2016.

Born May 12, 1921 in Detroit, MI, she was a daughter of the late Riewert and Jenny Roluffs of Oldsum, Germany.

Tillie was fun-loving and was known as “Traveling Tillie”, traveling to many states, the Caribbean, Germany, Austria and England with family members: also recently attending a family reunion in Portland, OR. She loved her family dearly, appreciating and accepting everything life offered. She will be sorely missed.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Willowick, where she was Sunday School teacher and choir member, and was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran in Marysville.

Survivors are her children, Richard M. (Patricia) Aumann of Marblehead, and Carol J. (Fred) Zimonja of Scituate, MA; daughter-in-law, Sandra Aumann of Eastlake; treasured grandchildren, Christine (Rev. Eric) Tritten, Philip (Jen) Aumann; Karla, Maia and Derek Zimonja; proud great-grandmother of seven; brother, Rev. Charles (Ellen) Roluffs of OR and sister-in-law Marie Roluffs of MI. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Richard C. Aumann, former pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, who passed away July 4, 1996 and her son, Philip C. Aumann, who passed away October 23, 2014. Her brother, Riewert Roluffs and sister, Katie Schreiber are also deceased.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions in her memory to Bethel Lutheran Church, 32410 Willowick Drive, Willowick, OH 44095.
