Nancy E. Lynn

Nancy Elizabeth Lynn, 68, of Mentor, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Altercare of Mentor in Concord Township.

Nancy was born in Painesville on December 27, 1947 and was a lifetime member of Willoughby and Mentor.

She was an active volunteer for many years with the Girl Scouts and also the YMCA, where she taught a deep-water exercise class. She was also an active member of the prayer shawl ministry at Willoughby United Methodist Church, and enjoyed raising Saint Bernard dogs for over 40 years.

Nancy was a 1966 graduate of Willoughby South High School and a 1969 graduate of the former Saint Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was also a member of the Order of Rainbow Girls for several years.

She was employed for four years at the former Saint Luke’s Hospital and two years South Miami Hospital in Miami, FL before returning to Ohio in 1972 to begin her career in nursing in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Cleveland Clinic where she served for 40 years before her retirement.

Survivors are her brothers, WillIard (Carolyn) Lynn of Danville, CA; David (Debbie) Lynn of McKinney, TX; Richard (Debbie) Lynn of College Station, TX and Jeffrey “Mr. Penguin” (Kathy) Lynn of Madison; nieces, Bonnie Harban of Phoenix, AZ; Gennie Lynn of College Station, TX and nephew, Richard (Ashlee) Lynn of Fort Mill, SC and their families.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, WillIard and Helen (Maybee) Lynn; her sister, Patricia Ann Lynn and her grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, followed by interment at Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village. The family will receive friends from 9-10 AM on Saturday, prior to the service.
