Patricia J. Logan Obituary

A memorial service to honor the life and legacy of Patricia Jean (Klee) Logan, 87, of Mentor, will be at 11 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor. The Rev. Kurt E. Landerholm will officiate at the service.

Mrs. Logan was called home to our Father on September 12, 2015.

Patricia Jean Logan was given the gift of life on May 1, 1928.

She was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for more than 20 years. A lifelong resident of Mentor, she will always be remembered for her smile, her warmth, her energy and her love of life.

Patricia lived a life of service, always finding time to help others or fight for a cause. Providing transportation for someone, taking an elderly neighbor’s sick cat to the vet or painting someone’s living room, she was forever in motion. Her favorite room in the house was the kitchen. She lived to entertain and feed people as anyone who knew Patricia could attest. Bounty from her vegetable garden served to gift everyone from the neighbor down the street to her dentist who appreciated hot peppers. We all benefitted from her tireless energy, loving nature and strong constitution.

Robert and Patricia grew up on Burridge Avenue in Mentor and often played at being married in a neighborhood barn. Playing baseball in a neighborhood field and climbing the neighborhood tree to eat cherries served as a basis for a long lasting, lifetime love.

Patricia worked as a cosmetologist at Yolanda’s Beauty Salon in Mentor for 30 years. Pat would often take orphaned birds, bunnies and chipmunks to the shop where clients, under the hair dryer, would hold and feed the tiny critters, many of whom survived to be released to the wild. Pat recycled before recycling was cool, taking dated magazines to the doctor’s office to share with others or collecting old Christmas cards to take to a local nursing home for crafts. She was often called the Queen of Clean and was rarely found without a dust rag or wash cloth in her hand.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 68 years, Robert Logan; her daughter, Linda (Jeff) Myers; grandson, Jonathan (Jessica) Myers and great-grandchildren, Jonah, Meredith and Sierra who will forever be changed by the loving, giving nature of this remarkable woman. She also leaves a sister, Jane Scott, formerly of Mentor and currently residing in Florida and many, many nieces and nephews and their families.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you carry on her legacy of service by paying it forward for someone in need.
