Services for Richard J. Snyder, 79, of Eastlake, will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Rev. Jill Lea Scott of Shoregate United Methodist Church will officiate at the service. <br><br>The family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 PM on Monday, November 27 at the funeral home.<br><br>Richard passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at his home. <br><br>Born December 12, 1937 in Cleveland, he has lived in Eastlake for the past 51 years.<br><br>He was a member of Shoregate United Methodist Church in Willowick, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2221 in Euclid and the Sons of the American Legion in New Port Richey, FL, where he has enjoyed spending his winters for the past 14 years. He was also an avid golfer. <br><br>Mr. Snyder devoted more than 31 years as a locomotive engineer with the former New York Central and Conrail railroads. He then began a career with the Lake County Data Center where he worked for 16 years. <br><br>Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Margaret J. “Peggy” (Richardson) Snyder; sons, Rick (Beverly) Snyder, Bob (Maureen) Snyder and Bill (Anita) Snyder; grandchildren, Craig, Kevin, Megan (Adam) Prinkey, Bill (Jaclyn), Ellen, Rebecca, Chelsea (Brendan) Wenger, Wanda and Kate and great-grandson, Benjamin Prinkey. <br><br>He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Barbara (Tishock) Snyder.<br><br>Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township, following the service on Tuesday. <br>
