Services for Robert Troop Charters, Jr., 91, of Mentor, will be at 6:30 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor.<br><br>The family will receive friends from 3-6:30 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Church. <br><br>Mr. Charters passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Hospice House in Cleveland.<br><br>Born July 7, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA he has lived in Mentor since 1970.<br><br>He was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church where he founded the Charter Members Men’s Chorus 20 years ago. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and an avid golfer.<br><br>Mr. Charters was employed as a manufacturer’s representative.<br><br>Survivors are his children, Robert T. (Joy) Charters, III of Winchendon, MA, Christine Lee of Mentor and Rebecca (Bob) Piriczki of Euclid; step-children, Sherry (David) Herbert, Grant (Susan) Barlow and Rae Ann (Bryan) McNeilly; grandchildren, Robert “Rip” (Phyllis) Charters, IV, Ross (Moki Brown) Charters, Robert “Bradley” (Melanie Niehus) Sells, Abbie Kakias and Megan (Eric) Stuckert; step-grandchildren, Bea Donna Barlow, Sherry Steadman, Jamie Steadman, Katherine McNeilly, Sean McNeilly and Monica McNeilly; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Makenzie, Reed, Saoirse, Farishta, Amaya, Kiley Rose, Mika and Bentley. <br><br>He was preceded in death by his former wife, Abbie (Charters) Myers in 2009 and his second wife, Beatrice T. Charters in 2005. His granddaughter, SSgt. Melissa Kakias, USAF, step-daughter, Saundra Steadman, parents, Robert T. Sr. and Agnes (Schreiner) Charters and sisters, Martha Jean Campbell, Anne Smith and Mary Elizabeth McMunn are also deceased.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Mentor United Methodist Church, Music Fund, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, OH 44060-5874.<br>
