Robert Kenneth Logan

Within every circle of friends there is an individual who is willing and able to put others’ needs above their own. Dedicated to integrity, honesty, compassion and generosity, Robert Logan was that man. Born February 10, 1925, as the youngest of twelve children, he was a lifelong resident of Mentor. Robert relinquished his life to God on September 2, 2016.

Married to his childhood sweetheart, Patricia (Klee) Logan, for 68 years they became the cor- nerstone of the Logan and Abel families. With their door always open, nearly every family event or celebration was held in their back yard while enjoying their swimming pool and warm hospi- tality. Wintering in Cape Coral, FL after retirement merely transported their congeniality to the South where family and friends were always welcome.

Patricia preceded Bob in death on September 12 of 2015.

Leaving Ohio State to serve his country in the Navy, Robert served in both W.W.II and the Ko- rean War. He participated in the invasion of France on the 15th of August 1944 causing the re- treat of the German army. Forever a patriot, an American flag on a 20 foot pole was always a fixture at the Logan home. He continued his life of service as an advisor to DeMolay Interna- tional, a youth leadership program. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Robert worked as an accountant and retired in 1981 from Midland Title where he served as executive vice-president/finance and treasurer.

An avid football fan, his TV was always turned to Ohio State games and he would watch the Cleveland Browns religiously. Even during the losing seasons. Many evenings were spent playing pinochle or hosting poker nights with his friends. Robert loved his swimming pool and looked forward to winter’s in Cape Coral, allowing him to swim year round.

He leaves behind his daughter Linda (Jeff) Myers and grandson, Jonathan (Jessica) Myers. Three great-grandchildren, Jonah, Meredith and Sierra Myers will remember fun in the pool, his unforgettable sense of humor and the generous nature of their great grandfather. He also leaves a sister, Lora Abel of Mansfield and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating his life will be held at the Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor on September 24th at 10 AM with a light lunch following. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you send donations to the Salvation Army or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
