Funeral services for Robert E. Mix, 88, of Painesville, formerly of Willoughby, will be 4 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.

Mr. Mix passed away April 21, 2014 at Burton Health Care Center.

Born Oct. 10, 1925 in Cameron, W. Va., Mr. Mix lived in Painesville the past 14 years.

Mr. Mix was a machinist at National Acme Corp. for 35 years; and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed gardening, boxing, watching sports and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rosa M. (Strope) Mix; daughters, Debbie (Bill) Beasley of Madison, Sandy (Patrick McGlynn) Mix of Painesville Twp., Karen (Mike Radmanic) Mix of Perry, and Vicki (David) Burdette of Willowick; son, John (Laura) Mix of Austin, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Manocchio of Painesville. He also leaves his sister-in-law Charlotte Mix of Kirtland.and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Mix and sister Norma Orient.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to The American Cancer Society, 11432 Mayfield Rd., Cleveland, OH 44106.
