Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for Roger A. Pishnery, 90, of Willoughby, will be at 10 AM Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 35781 Stevens Boulevard, Eastlake.
Mr. Pishnery passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Heartland of Mentor.
Born May 22, 1922 in Brownsville, PA, he has lived in Willoughby for the past 45 years.
He graduated from Collinwood High School, and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in Eastlake, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the AFL-CIO where he served as a union delegate. He enjoyed painting, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Mr. Pishnery was employed as a butcher for 37 years, and retired from the former A&P Grocery Store at Shoregate Shopping Center in Willowick.
Survivors are his wife of 67 years, Audrey (Andrews) Pishnery; son, David Pishnery of Mentor; daughters, Christine Benton of Burton and Nadine (Matthew) Kassnel of Kirtland; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He also leaves his former daughter-in-law, Mary Pishnery of Willoughby Hills and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
His son, Raymond Pishnery passed away in August, 1971. His parents, Larry and Rose (DeLuca) Pishnery, six brothers, two sisters and son-in-law, James Benton are also deceased.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
