Services for Rosemary (DeWolf) “Dee Dee” David, 85, of Willowick, will be 11 AM Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Erieside Church On The Boulevard, 221 East 320th Street, Willowick. Rosemary passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 in Cleveland. Born March 30, 1925 in Wheeling, West Virginia, she moved with her family to Euclid in 1944, and remained in the general area for the rest of her life. She has been a member of Erieside Church since 1963, where she was the volunteer treasurer and director of the fifth and sixth grade Awana Program for 20 years. She was known in Church as the “Candy Lady”, carrying with her a satchel full of candy every Sunday morning for young and old. She was always involved in Church activities, and was one of the original founders in the 1950’s of the former Masters’ United Methodist Church in Euclid. Mrs. David was the first woman State Examiner in the Municipal Division of the Bureau and Supervision of the Public Offices for the State of Ohio. She was appointed by Governor James A. Rhodes on June 4, 1967 and remained with the State until January 12, 1972, when she resigned to become the Finance Director and Treasurer for the City of Pepper Pike, Ohio. She introduced computers to City Hall and was also the registrar for the Selective Service System during the Vietnam War. During her 20 years of service, she saw Pepper Pike grow from an almost rural setting to a well developed community of over 6200 residents. She then accepted the position of Treasurer for the Village of Moreland Hills, where she served from August 1996 through March 2000, when she retired due to health problems. Rosemary was a member of the Cuyahoga County Mayor’s Secretaries and Assistants (CCMSA) and the Northeast Ohio Municipal Finance Officers Association (MFOA) since 1972. She is survived by her sons, James “Todgie” (Gloria) DeWolf, Tim (LeeAnn) DeWolf, Dale (Judy) DeWolf and David (Cindy) David; brother, Charles Bauer, 12 grandchildren, Cindy (Gary) Krogmann, Todgie DeWolf, Michael (Bryan) Keim, Brian, Katie, Megan, Kristen, Julie and Kelsey DeWolf, Jessica (John) Frcho, Samantha and Benjamin David; four great grandchildren Eric and Ryan Krogmann, Arabella and Braden Keim.
