Memorial services for Russell P. Savage, 83, of Mentor, will be at 2 PM on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Brian Landrum of Mentor Baptist Church will officiate at the service.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM on Sunday, prior to the service.

Mr. Savage passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

Born June 24, 1934 in Akron, he had lived in South Euclid and Mayfield Heights before moving to Mentor 41 years ago.

He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of Willoughby Lodge 302 Free and Accepted Masons and a member of Mayfield Heights Senior Jaycees.

Mr. Savage was employed as a quality assurance engineer with the B.F. Goodrich Company. He retired in 2009 after 25 years of service.

Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Joyce (Wingeleth) Savage; son, Jeffrey Savage and daughter, Karen (George) Hollendersky and grandson, Tyler Hollendersky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Ray (Schirmer) Savage and brother, Harvey Savage.

Private family burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to The American Heart Association, 1689 East 115th Street, Cleveland, OH 44106.
