Funeral services for Sandy Riggin, 70, of Mentor, will be 10 AM Monday, July, 16, 2012 at Willoughby United Methodist Church, 15 Public Square, Willoughby. The Rev. Donald Perks will officiate the service. Ms. Riggin passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by her family. She was born May 9, 1942 in Cleveland to the late Peter and Marian (Bechtol) Schmitt, and was a lifelong Lake County resident. Sandy was a member of the Euclid Women's Ensemble, the Lakeland Civic Chorus and the Willoughby United Methodist Church choir. She was also a board member of the Fine Arts Women's Committee, served on the Blossom Women's Committee, the Andrew's Alumni Association and was currently employed as a receptionist at the Breckenridge Retirement Village. Survivors are her daughters, Shelley (Darren) Muchnicki of Mentor and Kristy (Dennis) Murphy of Oak Brook, IL; grandchildren, Ethan and Aidan Muchnicki and Denny, James and Ella Murphy, and her brother David (Barbara) Schmitt of Michigan. Visitation will be Sunday, July 15, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. Memorial contributions should be directed to the Fine Arts Counsel, 38660 Mentor Ave., Willoughby 44094, or the Willoughby United Methodist Church Chancel Choir Fund, 15 Public Sq., Willoughby.
