Funeral services for William “Ray” Hiner, 86, of Mentor-On-The-Lake will be 7 PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.<br>Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home. <br>Bill passed away May 17, 2018. He was born July 13, 1931 in Monterey, Virginia.<br>Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he relocated to Ohio and married the love of his life, Dolly G. Wyatt. <br>He was an employee for the U.S. Postal Service in Mentor, retiring in 2000, after 35 years. He enjoyed reading, taking walks with Dolly, cheering on Cleveland sports teams, and attending Country Baptist Church in Mentor. <br>Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dolly G. Hiner; children, Debra (LeRoy) Pierce, Shari (Craig) Seketa, Jeanie (Robert) Green, Steven Hiner, and Stacey (Edward) Gaeta; grandchildren, LeRoy Jr., Sarabeth, Mitchell, Alexander, Nicholas, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Joshua, and Samantha; great-granddaughter, Gabryella; he also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.<br>He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bessie (Botkin) Hiner; siblings, Paul Hiner, J.B. Hiner, Randolph Hiner, Martha Hidy, Mary Simmons, Grace Eagle, and Lula Bywaters.<br>Private burial will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens. <br>
