Funeral services for William J. “BILL THE YMCA GREETER” Walton, 77, of Mentor, formerly of Eastlake, will be 12 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.<br><br>Family will receive friends 10 AM- 12 PM Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home. <br><br>Social distancing protocols will be enforced and masks are required. <br><br>Bill passed away December 17, 2020 in Willoughby. He was born March 27, 1943 in Cleveland. <br><br>He was a radiant and devout Christian. He worked for 25 years at The First Baptist Church in Willowick, calling and praying for and encouraging shut ins. Later, Bill was very active at the YMCA in Willoughby, known to all as, “The Greeter.” Bill was always praying for and inspiring many people with his radiant smile and upbeat attitude in spite of being wheelchair bound with cerebral palsy. His final 13 years were spent at Continuing Health Care Nursing Home in Mentor, where he lived out his years still being God’s Ambassador and “Ray of Sunshine” to all who knew him. He will be missed by so many people. <br><br>Survivors include his sister, Katharine (Walton) Peck; nephews and niece, Paul (Diane) Domanovics, Darrell (Karen) Domanovics, Lisa (Gregory) Bennett, and David Domanovics and great-nephews, Bradley and Christopher Domanovics and Ryan and Ethan Karis.<br><br>He was preceded in death by his parents, Ina and James Walton. <br><br>Family suggests contributions be made to Christ Community Church of Willoughby, 36407 Ridge Rd., Willoughby, OH 44094.<br>
