A Celebration of Life for Esther D. Froemming, age 102, will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Fairmont, with Reverend Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Esther was born in Fairmont on February 28, 1915 to Herman and Wilhelmine Timm, and she passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at her home in Fairmont. Esther attended the Zion Lutheran School. She married Adolph Froemming June 28, 1936 in Fairmont, and they enjoyed twenty-three years together before Adolph passed away in 1959. Esther was a homemaker prior to Adolph’s passing, and afterwards she worked at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in the housekeeping department. She also was an avid quilter, making many quilts for family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid Group which performed various duties such as providing lunches, making quilts and other charitable activities. On Esther’s 100th birthday, the Mayor of Fairmont honored her by naming a street Esther Froemming Drive. She enjoyed gardening and her front yard was like something out of a magazine, everyone always commented on how beautiful it was. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, husband Adolph Froemming, three brothers, Otto Timm, Walter Timm, Clarence Timm and a sister, Lilly Eggers. She is survived by her two children, daughter Faye Gash of Fairmont, and son Fred Froemming and wife Rita, of Enid; five grandchildren, Scott Gash and wife JoAnn of Enid; Thomas Froemming of Enid; Cheryl Wieden and husband Corey, of Fairmont; Kathy Hansen of Enid; Jean Gash of Kremlin; six great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
