IN MEMORY OF SONJA ROXANNE PORTER March 22, 1972 – June 18, 2020 Sonja Roxanne Porter, the DUI Diva of Oklahoma, entered into eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 18, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 22, 1972 in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was the wife of James A Porter III; mother of Jozef Donovan Porter, Sean Christopher Porter, and Mikayla Rose Porter. She was preceded in death by daughter, Charity Porter. She is survived by her Parents Leora and Frank M Brigg; her brother Anthony Briggs, beloved sisters-in-law and their spouses, Candice and Michael Bowles, and Stacey and Brian Culver. nieces, Faith and Grace Bowles, and Nora and Vivian Culver and nephews, Michael and Jacob Bowles and Creed and Barrett Culver. She is also survived by her in-laws, James and Monna Porter. She also leaves behind many Friends and Professional associates. Sonja was a criminal defense attorney specializing in DUI defense for 20 years in Oklahoma and previously was employed first as an Assistant District Attorney in Oklahoma County. She then joined the law firm of Fabian and Associates and eventually opened her own practice. She has earned many awards for her accomplishments in her legal profession. Sonja was also very active with her church, Harvest Hills Baptist Church, working and teaching children and coaching volleyball and basketball for the students in Harvest Hills Christian School. She earned her 1st Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and studied the Korean language. She was an amazing wife, mother, advocate, teacher, and friend. We are comforted knowing that Sonja is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Life is a journey and she has reached her destination. Viewing will be Wednesday, June 24th from 4PM until 8PM at the Vondel L Smith & Son Mortuary, 13125 N MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73142. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 25th at 11AM at Faith Bible Church "Old Sanctuary" , 600 N Coltrane, Edmond, OK. Burial will be at Spring Creek Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Flowers will be accepted at Vondel L. Smith Funeral Home Wednesday June 24th. Charitable Donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation or Trinity Legal Clinic of Oklahoma.
