Mae Tillman Wilson

Service will be 11:30 AM Thursday Jan 13th at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church Burial will be Friday Jan 14 at Noon at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City Mae T. Wilson was born August 17, 1918 seven miles west of Elk City, OK, the daughter of Tillman and Asa (Byrd) Shough. Mae attended schools in Elk City and then attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mae moved to Oklahoma City from Elk City in 1951. She owned Akins Appliances for 20 years and was a member of Cherokee Hills Baptist Church. She was active in the adult Sunday school class and the Christian Women’s Bible Study group. She married Robert H. Wilson on August 25, 1979. Mrs Wilson belonged to the Reviewer’s Coaterior book club, Town Hall and the Oklahoma Museum of Art – Art Guild. Her hobbies were painting and sewing. Mrs. Wilson is survived by two children and their spouses: Olivia A. Nesler, Margaret E. & Dr. Stan Heckrodt; three step-children, Robert H. Wilson III, Alice Claire Tatum, and Walter W. Wilson; eight grandchildren, Richard and Shawnna Wilkes, Sueann & Jim Sictor, Kyle and Melissa Mae Heckrodt, Kirk Heckrodt, Robert Wilson IV, Jonathan Wilson, Kenny Henrich, Tyler Tatum; also seven great grandchildren, Kendra and Ricky Wilkes, Breann and Allie Sictor, Wesley Wilson, Zack Wilson and Sara Wilson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Woodrow, her parents, her husband Robert, one sister, Mable Harrold, Bothers Roscoe Shough and Bill Shough. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday Jan. 12, 2011 from 4-8PM. Services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday Jan. 13, 2011 at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in OKC. Burial will be held on Friday Jan. 14, 2011 at Noon at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Omniplex or Cherokee Hills Baptist Church.
