Shirley Marie Miller Obituary

Shirley Marie Miller of Reedsport, OR died March 12, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born in Havre, MT on December 4, 1936 to William and Hazel (Green) Miller. She grew up in Montana and then later spent her time in the Salem, Stayton, Aumsville and Monmouth areas of Oregon before retiring in Reedsport. She married Gerald May in 1956; they divorced in 2008. Shirley was mostly a mother, but she did work outside the home. Shirley was a waitress and owned a restaurant for a short time and worked as a film processer for Artz Photo she also toiled in real estate. She also was a great admirer of the Salvation Army and spent a lot of time with the organization. When Shirley retired, she spent her time with her pets, playing cards and enjoyed the wonderful Oregon beaches with her son William who she took care of. Shirley is survived by her sons Stanley (Rose) and William; sisters Hazel and Bertha; grandson Ryan (Laura); great grandchildren David, Henry, Nolan and Amelia and over 40 nieces and nephews, all of whom she cared for dearly. She is preceded by her parents; sister Helene; brother Merle, Ivan, Bill and Vern; son Steven and nephews Lee and Mark. Contributions can be made to the Salvation Army in Albany or Sable House in Dallas in her memory. A graveside service was held on March 19, 2018 at 2:00PM in the Jason Lee Mission Cemetery in Salem, OR. Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is caring for the family.
