Mary Porter

Mary Alice Porter, 70, of Applegate, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at her home. Private family services have been held. She was born Sept. 24, 1939, in Newport, Ky. She married William Porter in Las Vegas in 1982. In 1983, the couple moved to the Applegate area from Southern California. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Grants Pass, Rogue Area Senior Computer Assistance League and the Rogue Area Computer Club. She liked participating in local parades. Porter also enjoyed crafting, cooking, hunting, fishing, gardening, caring for her chickens and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her husband, survivors include her son, Tony Temple of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; daughter, Debbie Steele of Meridan, Idaho; and four grandchildren. A daughter, Susan Temple, died in 2002.
