Lucille B. Heinrich

Lucille B. Heinrich passed away on June 05, 2020 at Whitewood Gardens in Portland, OR. Lucille was born on December 26, 1920 to Frank S. and Louella B. Spence Gerking on Pleasant Ridge, near The Dalles, OR. She was 99 years of age at the time of her passing. Lucille walked to the country school and often caught a ride with a friend as a second rider on their bicycle. Growing up, she attended Odell schools. Lucille remained friends with several of her classmates through most of her life. Lucille married Roy Heinrich on December 10th, 1940. They lived in Hood River until Roy’s death in 1970. Lucille remained in Hood River until 1996 when she sold her home and moved to her Arizona home for winters and lived with her son, Garry and wife Jan, in Boring, Oregon during the summertime. The Gorge packing houses kept Lucille busy as a seasonal worker, however, the rearing of her children, Garry and Pamela, were her greatest accomplishments of her life. She loved spending winters in sunny, warm Arizona and she also loved traveling. Lucille is survived by her son, Garry R Heinrich and spouse Jan; daughter Pamela L Sylvester and spouse Jack; two grandchildren from Pam & Jack, Tad Sylvester and Scott Sylvester (wife Carol); two grandchildren, Korene Torney and Nicol McFadden from Garry's family; great grandchildren from grandson Tad, Blair and Miles Sylvester; from Nicol's family, Torin and Kyla Sockey; and Korene's children, Lauren and Julia Torney. Lucille also enjoyed the company of her many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. At 99 years old, Lucille was predeceased in death by her husband Roy; her parents; brother Samuel Gerking; sister Hallie Cline; and nearly all her many friends who were around her age.
