VERNA E. ORR, 79, of Lebanon died on Tuesday July 25, 2006 at an Lebanon area care home. Verna was born November 8, 1926 in Brunswick, Nebraska the daughter of Andrew and Olive (Ellis) Robertson. She lived near Orchard, Nebraska throughout her childhood where she attended her schooling. Verna married Gale Orr in Orchard, NE on September 26, 1945. They moved to Bend, OR for a short time, then to San Jose, CA for seven years. She moved to the Mid Willamette Valley in 1957 and then to Lebanon in 1960. She worked as a clerk at Linn Co Federal Credit Union for many years until retiring in 1991. Mrs. Orr enjoyed volunteering at the Lebanon Community Hospital Auxiliary, was an active member of Southside Church of Christ, enjoyed sewing and needlework. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Gale in 1980, a grandson, David Orr, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Barb Lam of Lebanon, two sons, Russ Orr of Gresham and Don Orr of Charlotte, NC, two sisters, Jean Porter of Kearney, NE and Lois Johnson of Verdegre, NE, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday July 29 2:00 P.M. at the Southside Church of Christ (196 Airport Rd. Lebanon, OR).
