Dorothy Lair Obituary

Dorothy (Dottie) E. Lair, 76, of Bellefonte went home to be with her Jesus on November 17, 2017. Born on February 8, 1941 in Zion, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert B. and Dorothy (Lucas) Hassinger. On December 5, 1959, she married Ray (Skip) Lair Jr., who survives at home. Dottie was employed by Murata Erie in State College for 37 years, retiring in 2002. She is survived by two sons; Terry E. Lair of Millheim, PA and Michael E. Lair (Linda) of State College, PA, two grandchildren; Johnne Lynn Mancheno and Bejamin Ray. Also surviving are Dottie’s siblings, Eleanor Jane Leigy, Gilbert B. Jr Hassinger, and Philip L. Hassinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Charlie Hassinger and Bill Hassinger. Dottie loved her church, music and gardening. She loved spending time with her family. She loved them all very much and her going home will leave a large void in their lives. Dottie was a member of the Jr. Legion Marching Band, Central Penna Boat Club and Tres Dias. The family would like to thank all the wonderful girls who took special care of Dottie from Centre Home Care; Susan, Debby, Chris, Hanna, Sherry, Grace and Amanda. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00am, at Living Hope Alliance Church, 321 E. Howard Street, a celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor John Pavlica officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made Centre Home Care, 2437 Commercial Blvd, State College, PA 16801 or Living Hope Alliance Church, 321 E. Howard Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
